In the summer of 2019, we are working to facilitate a summer program for families in Cabot. The program will offer food for the heart, mind, and body, with delicious food and activities which build individual and community resilience.
Mindfulness practices, meditation, yoga, and movement will be mixed with stories, activities, and music to help give young people ethical tools for life’s complex and often confusing choices, build resilience and self-respect, and encourage them on their own journey for meaning and purpose in life.
The program will start at 11:45 am. We will gather in a circle, sing a song or recite a poem, give thanks, eat lunch, and clean up together.
When children under 13 attend, their parent, mentor, other adult or older sibling needs to come along with them. If parents want to come for the whole program, they are very welcome. Registration is required – we need to know how many people will eat lunch. Donations and volunteer time are accepted to defray costs of lunch, materials, and instruction, but are not required.
